Taiwan's Export Orders in October Reached US$39.59 Billion: MOEA

MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) said that Taiwan's export orders grew 3.2% year on year to reach US$39.59 billion in October – the second-highest level in the country's history, according to the Commercial Times on November 21. Riding on strong demand for smartphones and tablets, exports of electronic products moved up to US$10.66 billion last month to the third-highest level in Taiwan's history. The United States is the biggest export destination in October, advancing 9% year on year to reach US$10.58 billion. Exports to China registered a 3.2% year-on-year growth to US$9.69 billion while those to Europe also rose 7.6% year on year to US$7.33 billion. MOEA estimated that the country's full-year exports in 2013 will fall between US$430 billion and US$440 billion.
